An authentic and cosy stone-built cottage with metre-thick walls.
The intimate feel of Clear Water Cottage is ideal for a couple, although there’s plenty of space for a family of four to spend a week’s holiday or short break. Clear Water Cottage is cool in summer, cosy in winter and has the characteristic quietness of a building with ancient and substantial stone walls.
Much like Clear Water Barn our aim here was to create a sympathetic restoration which feels inviting and homely. The comfort and charm of the building, coupled with its centuries-long history makes it a very special place to stay.
A short break here is the perfect antidote to the stresses and strains of modern day life, giving you time to unwind, refresh and recharge.
Alternatively you can immerse yourself in the many local activities and things to see and do!
Downstairs, there’s a comfortable lounge area, with FreeSat TV, CD player and reading lamp. The dining area has a round pine table with four chairs. The Cottage’s fully equipped kitchen has a cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster and all the crockery and cutlery you’re likely to need.
Clear Water Cottage has wireless Broadband, with download and upload speeds up to 10mbps.
The bedrooms in Clear Water Cottage are a surprise. They are far more airy and spacious than might be expected from an ancient building. The double bedroom has windows to the front and side – both with spectacular views, while the twin bedroom has a window at the front and a Velux roof-light for night-time stargazing!
There’s a walk-in wardrobe in the double bedroom, and a free-standing wardrobe in the twin room. Each room has bedside cabinets with reading lamps.
Each bedroom also has a hand-made vanity unit with basin and mixer tap, mirror with built-in light.
Duvets, bed linen, two pillows per person and towels are provided.
The bathroom in Clear Water Cottage has a bath with shower over, washbasin and toilet. Over the washbasin there’s a large mirror with lighting.
The walls are tiled with turquoise glass mosaic, the bath surround and bath mat are oiled hardwood and the floor is dark grey slate. The bathroom is warm and cosy. We provide all the towels you’re likely to need (except beach towels).
